About the Company

The Lottery was created by a ballot measure, Proposition 37, which was approved by 58 percent of voters on Nov. 6, 1984. The Lottery Act gave the Lottery a clear mission: to provide supplemental funding for public schools and colleges. The Lottery is operated and administered by a Commission appointed by the Governor.

 

About the Person

Chris Riesen has spent the better part of his career working in strategic positions that progress organizations around their business capabilities, enterprise architecture, governance and implementation of business solutions. He currently works as the Chief Enterprise Architect for CalPERS, the largest public pension in the United States. His responsibilities fall in three main areas – Architecture, Information and Security. As such he is responsible for CalPERS Enterprise Architecture, Business Intelligence & Analytics, Technical Security and Strategic Innovation programs. Through his years of working directly with customers at all levels in an organization, being part of senior management and successfully managing projects and programs, he has worked diligently to advance the important principles and concepts within each organization. In each of his jobs, he has provided direction, recommendations and worked along with the organizations leaders. This has provided him the opportunity of being involved in key decisions that have shaped the future of organizations.
