About the Person

Chris Garner, CIO and EVP, Shared Services, brings an impressive leadership and organizational management background of over 30 years to Willis Group, including all aspects of leadership, team management/mentoring, software development, and IT management. Garner will be responsible for Information Technology, Human Resources and Accounting shared services. Prior to joining Willis Group, Chris Garner held senior positions including Vice President of Product Development for Campus Management, Sr. Vice President for GT Software, managing all aspects of technology (R&D, QA, Product Management, Support and IT), Sr. Vice President, Engineering and IT for NEON and Vice President of R&D for Altra Energy (acquired by Sungard Energy). Garner was also the founder and CEO of Succinct Software, a DB2 specialty staffing and software vendor. Garner has appeared as a featured speaker and panelist at several conferences related to developing/managing/monitoring/mentoring high performance teams as well as database performance management. He is also the author of several articles on performance management and has championed several technology teams in developing patents, one in Online Energy Trading and another in Performance Modeling. Garner attended the University of Houston and has recruited multiple candidates from the University of Houston into internship programs for IT. He is a member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Hospitality Committee.
