About the Person
Charles Cheevers serves as Chief Technology Officer of Customer Premises Equipment at ARRIS Group, Inc. Mr. Cheevers is responsible for the 2-5 year Technology vision of ARRIS CPE Business and the evolution of Home Gateways, STB and User interaction with all Digital Services. He is also responsible for defining architectures for CPE devices and the cloud to ground solutions and evolving customer Digital Life requirements. Mr. Cheevers served as Chief Technology Officer of Europe at ARRIS Group, Inc. since May 2006 and served as Vice President of Product Line Management, Multimedia at ARRIS EdgeQAM business also responsible for ARRIS EdgeQAM business from 2008 to 2010. He served as the Vice President of Engineering for the ARRIS Cadant(R) C3(TM) CMTS and Keystone(TM) D5(TM) DMTS products. From 2003 to 2008, Mr. Cheevers served as General Manager of the ARRIS R&D Center in Cork, Ireland. He was responsible for development of Cadant C3 CMTS and D5 Universal EdgeQAM products. Before joining Com21, he held Senior Management positions for Apple Computer Inc., and QC Data Inc. He has worked for the last fourteen years in the Cable Industry developing DVB and DOCSIS HeadEnd and CPE solutions and products and also focused on convergent solutions for the Network and Home through all IP deilvery. He is also a recipient of the 2006 and 2011 Cable and Satellite Euro50 award for his contributions to Cable technology and a top 5 Shortlisted Nominee in 2011. Mr. Cheevers began his career as a University Lecturer in Computer Science and holds a First Class Honours Degree in Computer Science.
