We began in 1876 in Chicago as the N.M. Johnson Company, “Blank Book Manufacturers and Book Binders.” About the same time as General George Custer and his troops were defeated in the Battle of Little Bighorn in the Montana Territory, our first advertisement appeared in the 1876-77 Chicago Business Directory. When Thomas Stephen Quin joined the company in 1896, the business was renamed Johnson and Quin. Throughout the years, Johnson and Quin has prospered by deploying the latest technologies and adapting to the changing marketplace. The company led the introduction of laser printing to the Midwest in 1979, which soon transformed Johnson and Quin into a full-service direct mail production company. We offer the latest in direct mail production, integrated marketing solutions, data services and personalization technologies, cutting-edge printing with both laser and ink jet printers, and certified data security practices. The innovation, flexibility, and solid financial credentials that propelled us throughout our 139-year history remains at the core of the way we work today.
Historically, TV measurement has been limited to paid advertising, overlooking the impact and return on brand exposure within the content — where audiences are most engaged. As advertisers and agencies evolve their paid TV strategies to include earned media and brand sponsorship, they need TV monitoring, measurement and signaling solutions that reach across local, national and even global markets. Kinetiq`s global TV intelligence network identifies brand mentions, second by second across thousands of TV Stations, enabling brands to evaluate TV and video with the same speed, accuracy and agility as digital.
Mother was founded in London in 1996 by a group of creative, free-thinking individuals sitting around a kitchen table eating lunch. It`s here that the group decided that they were hungry – not for more sandwiches, but to do things differently. They wanted to break free from the shackles of traditional agencies and be 100% independent. To be free to do the best work possible, and not have to answer to any private equity firms, holding companies or indeed any other tentacle of the grotesquely swollen octopus of global capital. Today, Mother is still fiercely independent, but now there are over 500 like-minded people in our family, with offices across London, New York, Los Angeles, Shanghai and the oddly Shoreditch-based continent of South America. All with kitchen tables in them. And all with people sitting around them that come to work everyday to make the best work they possibly can. Come on in. Everybody who is passionate about great work is always welcome at our table.
After 20 years of hands on marketing experience as consultants, we knew that we could create a culture that is unique. At the center of our culture is the well-being of our consultants. We know that when our consultants are happy, it immediately transfers to our client engagements which in turn leads to our success. We are a collection of seasoned marketing consultants that are passionate about building mutually beneficial relationships with our clients and other consultants we work closely with. Our team approach has grown organically and is a staple of how we conduct business. We are trusted advisors to both our clients and to each other. Leveraging the ingenuity that our consultants bring to us is our “secret sauce”. “You never know where you will find your next beneficial relationship. I think that people invest time and energy into people they perceive can directly help them. Many networking forums focus on how to “get something” from the contact. I find that not only does it feel unsavory, it rarely works. The Golden Rule always works. I love results driven behavior, and remind myself of this rule often. When I am truly curious about individuals, about their lives, their work and personal motivations it connects me to them in a more meaningful way. Often those individual connections don`t appear to have any relevance to the work I am doing. However, consistently those people connect with me because they need something or even more astonishing they want to help me in some way.
