Harris County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas within the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown metropolitan area. As of 2000 U.S. Census, the county had a population of 3,400,578 (though a 2007 estimate placed the population at 4,011,475), making it the most populous county in Texas and the third most populous county in the United States. Its county seat is Houston.
The U.S. Sentencing Commission, a bipartisan, independent agency located in the judicial branch of government, was created by Congress in 1984 to reduce sentencing disparities and promote transparency and proportionality in sentencing. The Commission collects, analyzes, and distributes a broad array of information on federal sentencing practices, continuously establishing and amending sentencing guidelines for the judicial branch and assisting the other branches in developing effective and efficient crime policy.

The Downtown Memphis Commission (DMC), formerly known as the Center City Commission, is the organization charged with advancing Memphis and Shelby County by making Downtown Memphis a better place to work, live, learn, invest and visit. The DMC is an independent development agency that is not funded by City or County taxes. The DMC is primarily funded by a special assessment on commercial properties in the Central Business Improvement District (CBID), the area referred to as Downtown Memphis, and fees paid by private Downtown developers. All of Memphis and Shelby County benefit from the work done by the DMC, but citizens and property owners outside of Downtown do not contribute to the DMC`s operations or incentives. The DMC`s aim is to attract more people to Memphis and Shelby County with a vibrant Downtown that is densely populated, authentic, mixed-use, walkable, clean, safe and fun. The City of Memphis and Shelby County governments established the Downtown Memphis Commission to capitalize on Downtown`s role as the economic, cultural, and governmental heart of the city and county. The DMC is the official partnership between local government and the private business community in Downtown`s development.
The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command, known as DEVCOM, is the Army`s technology leader and largest technology developer. DEVCOM ensures the dominance of Army capabilities by creating, integrating and delivering technology-enabled solutions to our Soldiers. The command provides the Army with an organic research and development capability. More than 13,700 Soldiers, civilian employees and direct contractors form this world-class team. As part of that team, there are more than 10,000 engineers and scientists, many of whom are the Army`s leading experts in their fields.
