Located in the Southeast corner of Wisconsin along the shores of Lake Michigan, Racine County is conveniently close to both Milwaukee and Chicago. Kansas Office of Information Technology Services was created under Governor Sam Brownback. Previously, OITS was known as the Division of Information Systems and Communication (DISC) and was a division of the Kansas Department of Administration. OITS is an independent agency, but the two agencies still maintain close operational relationships in several areas because the transition was never completed.
The Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation was created in 1966 to provide decent, safe, and sanitary housing within the Cherokee Nation. Today, nearly fifty years later, we continue that original mission and are dedicated to providing housing assistance through a number of programs. Nearly 6,000 families are assisted with housing through the HACN on a number of programs. As a sub-recipient of NAHASDA funding for the Cherokee Nation we administer low-income rental housing, rental assistance, college housing, and manage a number of homes previously constructed with federal housing funds. Today, the HACN has renewed its commitment to providing new construction opportunities to Cherokee families. Through an innovative approach we offer a New Home Construction Program. This program uses funding outside of federal grant programs to provide housing. Preference is given to families that own their own land or has a family member that is willing to donate land for construction.
The Senate is comprised of 40 members, with each Senator elected to represent a district consisting of approximately 159,000 people. As required by the Massachusetts Constitution, the Senate meets every 72 hours, year-round in either formal or informal session to consider legislation. The Massachusetts Senate is led by the President of the Senate who is elected by the members of the body at the beginning of each two-year legislative session. The Massachusetts Legislature, known as the General Court, has been meeting since 1713.
