About the Person
Mr. William Swislow (Bill) has been the Senior Vice President of Product of Cars.com., since December 11, 2006 and has been its Chief Information Officer since October 2010. Mr. Swislow served as Vice President and Executive Producer of Cars.com., since December 11, 2006., a leading business unit of Classified Ventures, Llc. In this role, Mr. Swislow attracts consumers to cars.com through his leadership of the website's design, functionality and original editorial content. He has guided the site's development since its inception in 1997. In addition to his role at cars.com, he operates the cultural website interestingideas.com. Before joining cars.com, he served in several roles within the Chicago Tribune, including interactive marketplaces editor. During his tenure, Mr. Swislow managed the launch of its first editorial website. Prior to his time with Tribune, he served as managing editor of the Society of Professional Journalists' Quill Magazine and of four alternative weeklies in New England. He served two years as an editor of Dow Jones News Service. Mr. Swislow received his bachelor's degree in government from Harvard University and a master's degree in journalism from Columbia University.
