About the Company
Based in Austin, Texas, SignaCert helps IT operations and security people protect their systems and data. We do that with SignaCert® Integrity™, which automatically and continuously verifies integrity to reduce mean time to detection and lower the total cost of detection. The core capability that drives SignaCert® Integrity™ today, and that will drive other solutions as we evolve, is “The Power of Being Correct.™” That phrase captures our fundamental belief that most IT problems result from something—a network permissions setting, a system configuration, a software version, a firewall port assignment, etc.—being incorrect. To combat that, we create technology that is uniquely able to identify what is correct and what isn’t. Knowing what’s correct in the first place is obviously central to making this approach work, and we discuss that in depth here. But as a practical example, SignaCert Integrity can assess an organization’s computers, networks, web sites and everything else, spot what’s wrong in a matter of seconds, and then alert you to it. That allows you to reduce the mean time to detection and lower the total cost of detection of adverse events such as security breaches or compliance failures.
About the Person
Bart Lauwers has a 27-year record of excellence in solving business problems and accelerating growth, including more than 16 years as a CTO, CIO or COO. Prior to SignaCert, Bart was the vice president and CTO for NTT DATA’s State and Local practice, where he led a P&L delivery organization focused on IT Modernization services. Before NTT DATA, Bart was Vice President at CareFusion, a $7.6 billion medical device manufacturer with 16,000 employees across 40 sites. His earlier roles include being a principal of Genthree, an IT strategy consulting practice, CTO of Netmining, the leader in behavioral targeting, Division CIO with Cisco Systems’ Customer Advocacy BU (1996–2007), and co-founder of Cisco’s Information Security practice. Bart holds a Masters of Science in Advanced IT and Business Management from the University of Wales.
