About the Person

Asa Kalavade is a serial entrepreneur and an industry veteran with deep expertise and experience in analytics and mobile technologies. Prior to her role at Zettics, Asa was founding CEO of Umber Systems, taking the company from inception through venture financing and initial customer wins. In her current role as CTO and SVP Products, Asa is responsible for technology vision and strategy, product management, engineering and operations. Asa has over 15 years of broad technology and systems experience that spans real-time systems, optimization algorithms, multimedia applications and mobile technologies. Prior to Zettics, Asa was the Co-Founder and CTO of Tatara Systems, a leading provider of Femtocell convergence solutions. Asa also spent several years at Bell Labs where she was involved in a number of cutting-edge products. Asa holds 14 patents and has published in numerous international conferences and journals. Asa is a TiE Charter Member and was named one of the 10 “Women to Watch” by Mass High Tech in 2007 and TIE-Boston Woman Entrepreneur of the Year in 2010. Asa holds a PhD in EECS from the University of California at Berkeley.
