The author of two technology books, Alison has been featured in People Magazine for her innovative use of technology to solve problems. With over 11k followers on Twitter, she was featured in 2009 and again in 2012 in Wired Magazine as one of the top 100 geeks to follow and in 2010 on Mashable's list of the top 15 hacker chicks to follow. An information security advocate, she was a presenter at MacWorld in 2012 on security and privacy issues. Alison has been part of a prestigious group of outspoken Open Source leaders selected to attend the Microsoft Web Developer's Summit. She was one of the first developers to leverage the Facebook and Twitter APIs to build interactive web applications. Her work has been featured in Ad Age, ReadWriteWeb, Current.Com, Nerve.Com and Laughing Squid.
