About the Person
After earning a degree in electrical engineering at the Technical University of Munich, Alexander Lewald spent three years at the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt, DLR) working at the DLR Institute of Robotics and System Dynamics. In connection with his activities at DLR, he earned his doctoral degree in the field of system dynamics for multi-axle robots. Alexander Lewald had the opportunity to learn more about this topic at the Engineering School of Stanford University in Palo Alto, California (USA). He subsequently spent five years at McKinsey & Company. Over the past 15 years, he has gathered extensive experience in setting up new businesses, for instance at Kapp IT Ventures, Gilde IT Management, SAP, and Parametric Technology Corp. (PTC). During the last three years, Alexander Lewald has played a key role in realigning PTC to offer solutions for smart, connected products.
