And we protect American intelligence from the ever-listening ears of our adversaries. Our goal is to use intelligence to give the U.S. a decisive information advantage. We have two primary missions working toward this goal: Our Information Assurance mission works to prevent foreign adversaries from gaining access to sensitive or classified national security information. At the same time, our Signals Intelligence mission intercepts, decrypts, analyzes, and disseminates intelligence information from foreign signals. This Agency also enables Network Warfare operations to defeat terrorists and their organizations at home and abroad, consistent with U.S. laws and the protection of privacy and civil liberties. At the Nations top cryptologic organization, we employ the best and the brightest, who use their intelligence to solve some of the Nations most difficult challenges. NSA is the world leader in many technology fields and conducts one of the U.S. Governments leading research and development programs. We are also the largest employer of Mathematicians in the country, as well as one of the most important centers of foreign language analysis and research.
The U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) is a bureau within the U.S. Department of Commerce, with the mission to lead the federal economic development agenda by promoting innovation and competitiveness, preparing American regions for growth and success in the worldwide economy. EDA encourages programs that promote job growth and business expansion in today`s technologies and in discovering tomorrow`s. We support key initiatives among regional areas across the United States, thereby developing economic stability through intergovernmental and public/private sector collaboration.
The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis was established in 1914, after the creation of the Federal Reserve System in 1913. The Eighth Federal Reserve District is headquartered in St. Louis and has branches in Little Rock, Ark., Louisville, Ky., and Memphis, Tenn. The District includes all of Arkansas and portions of six other states: Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri and Tennessee. As one of the 12 regional Reserve banks in the Fed System, the St. Louis Fed is central to America`s economy. All of the Reserve banks share some degree of similar duties. But because the banks are independent of one another, each has some specialized assignments and tasks that distinguish it.
