About the Person
Adi Garg leads H.D. Vest’s Information Technology team and focuses on driving innovation to deliver the highest value technology for the company. He and his team oversee H.D. Vest’s technology strategy, product development, operations, and information security. They build, operate, and integrate all technology platforms used by H.D. Vest to provide a superior user experience. Adi joined H.D. Vest in January 2013 after 21 years in IT across multiple industries, including stints at Citibank, Cash America, and FedEx. Most recently, he was vice president and chief technology officer for Cash America, where he led strategy and infrastructure operations. While at Citibank, Adi pioneered groundbreaking software development practices that are still the standard in the IT industry today. During his long tenure at FedEx, Adi led the creation of several innovative software products in the airline, freight, logistics, and customer automation domains. He also won several awards for innovation, service, and technology leadership, and served on the Technology Planning Council, which directs technology investments across the company. Adi has an MBA from Southern Methodist University, a masters of science in IT from Carnegie Mellon University, and a bachelor of science in engineering from National Institute of Technology, India. Adi is a firm believer in technology as a force for good in the world. He taught himself programming at age 15 on a ZX Spectrum personal computer and still pursues it as a hobby. He also enjoys inventing, reading, woodworking, photography, artisan bread baking, and sailing. His most recent project was to become a PADI-certified scuba diver. Originally from India, Adi has lived in Kenya and Canada, and now lives in Flower Mound, Texas with his wife and two kids.
