Position Overview
As a key member of the Executive Management team, the Chief Financial Officer will report to ownership and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company. The CFO will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, and managing all financial aspects of a high growth company. This will include direct responsibility for all accounting and finance, but with a focus on forecasting, planning and analysis. We also contemplate that this position will also lead our IT, legal, and facilities planning functions. .
Duties:
• Provide leadership and guidance on strategic issues affecting the company.
• Work with marketing, sales, and operational leaders to improve financial performance.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with Directors, V.P`s, and Ownership of the company.
• Lead rigorous budgeting and forecasting with an emphasis on accountability for profitable growth.
• Continually improve the departmental and project budgeting process by working with directors and managers.
• Provide strategic analysis to increase financial performance and business opportunities.
• Develop more robust analysis capabilities focusing on brand, subline, customer, sku, and new product development profitability.
• Build a high performing finance and accounting team with a focus on embedding financial rigor in day-to-day marketing, sales, R&D and operations.
• Develop a more rigorous Capex planning and budgeting process.
• Optimize the company`s capital structure to support growth, scale and owner objectives.
• Work with management on M&A opportunities
• Work with Director of Accounting to ensure that all financial reporting is accurate and timely.
• Provide leadership and guidance on treasury and tax planning
• Represent the company with key external partners including banking, legal, insurance, and accounting.
Experience and Skills
Skills
• Excellent communication: verbal and written
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Strong finance ability
• Strong accounting ability
• Proven ability to be part of a team and to lead a team
• CPG experience is helpful, though not necessary
• Strong ERP knowledge. Experience with Great Plains is a plus
• Experience serving on cross-functional teams

Qualifications Required:
Education:
• Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance
• Graduate degree in business (MBA, MBAA, MPA, etc.) preferred
• 6-10 years relevant, proven experience as CFO or business unit finance director
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stoop, reach, bend, stand, walk, lift, pull, push, grasp, talk, hear, see, and lift up to 10 pounds.
