We offer preschool programs on sixteen campuses and have approximately 530 preschoolers enrolled. The newest campus, Emblem Academy, was re-opened in the 2013-2014 school year with a focus on Ethics, Science,Technology, Engineering, Entrepreneurship, and Mathematics. Thirteen of our schools have been recognized as California Distinguished Schools, many of them more than once. In 2012 - 2013 one school received the Title I National Academic Achievement award. In addition, five schools have been recognized as National Blue Ribbon Schools. Academic Performance Index (API) scores have been consistently strong with all schools over the state goal of 800. In 2012-2013 our API was 876. All demographic areas of student performance continue to show improvement. Saugus Union School District has an active parent participation movement at all sites with School Site Councils and Parent Teacher Organizations supporting community and educational needs at each school. Representatives of these organizations join together to form the Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) in order to meet and share information under the leadership of the District Superintendent.
