We are recruiting and rallying leaders in politics, business, entertainment, sports, technology, art, and culture to lend their voices, resources, and platforms to further the justice reform movement. Of the more than six million people who are under the control of the criminal justice system, more than four million are on probation and parole – a system that keeps people stuck in an endless cycle of imprisonment and costs state governments millions of dollars. Nathan Adelson Hospice was formed as a non-profit program to provide quality care and compassionate support for patients who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness and a life expectancy that can be measured in weeks or months, rather than years.
At Apprenti, we not only create alternative pathways to access tech talent and help organizations address digital skills shortages, we provide economic mobility to underrepresented groups by identifying, training, and placing diverse talent in tech careers. As the first nationally registered tech apprenticeship program, Apprenti provides a proven, reliable pipeline for connecting underrepresented groups including people of color, women, veterans, and people with disabilities to the necessary training and hands-on skills needed to be successful in the tech industry. Apprenti is a program of the Washington Technology Industry Association (WTIA) Workforce Institute. The WTIA Workforce Institute is a 501c3 organization created to address tech industry`s workforce and diversity needs.
We take on the most difficult tasks to help the most under-served gain self-reliance, dignity, and hope in Minnesota. In 2014, we served more than 23,000 people and employed a staff of 800 in Minnesota and Wisconsin, in more than 110 locations. We coordinated the efforts of nearly 1,000 volunteers, who contributed over 64,000 hours of service. Volunteers of America – Minnesota and Wisconsin has nearly 120 years of experience in services for older adults; adults with special needs; children, youth and families; military and veterans; and those re-entering our communities after incarceration. We provide over $40 million in services to more than 23,000 people annually.
