Lighthouse Youth Services is a multiservice agency providing social services to children, youth and families in southwestern Ohio. Operating since 1969, Lighthouse is nationally recognized as an innovator in services for families in crisis, for homeless youth and young adults, for youth learning to become self-sufficient, and in foster care for abused or neglected children. Lighthouse operates the area`s only direct access, around the clock sanctuary for homeless, abused, neglected or abandoned youth; the only state-supported private juvenile corrections program for serious juvenile felons; and is the largest provider of foster care in Hamilton County. In all, Lighthouse operates 19 different programs, including a charter school. At any given time there are over 550 children, youth and families in Lighthouse residential care. Each day Lighthouse staff members serve over 2,000 children and families through its community based services. Last year, the agency served over 5,000 young people and families. Central to their lives are concerns about homelessness, hunger, loneliness and safety.

The Himalayan Cataract Project (HCP) is an independent, non-profit organization established to eradicate preventable blindness worldwide. We pursue this mission by delivering high-quality care, training local personnel and establishing world-class eye care infrastructure. The HCP was founded in 1995 by two intrepid ophthalmologists - Drs. Sanduk Ruit and Geoffrey Tabin - focused on eradicating unnecessary blindness due to cataracts in the Himalayan region. Today, HCP has expanded to provide eye care, infrastructure support and training for international populations in more than 16 countries throughout Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa, has trained eye care personnel from more than 40 countries, and has procured equipment and supplies for programs in more than 37 countries.
The Slippery Rock University Student Government Association, Inc. (SRSGA) is an independent corporation on campus with a roughly two-million dollar budget. SRSGA serves as the governing body to most clubs and organizations at Slippery Rock University. SRSGA recognizes over one hundred organizations and provides budgets for most. Also, SRSGA helps fund the majority of Slippery Rock Athletics, runs a Child Care facility on campus, manages the campus bus service, and owns the university book store.
