The California Labor & Workforce Development Agency was created in 2002, and is the first cabinet-level agency to coordinate workforce programs. The Agency oversees seven major departments, boards and panels that serve California workers and businesses by improving access to employment and training programs, enforcing California labor laws to protect workers and create an even playing field for employers, and administering benefits that include workers` compensation, unemployment insurance, disability insurance and paid family leave. The Farm Credit Administration (FCA) is an independent Federal agency that regulates and examines the banks, associations, and related entities of the Farm Credit System (FCS), including the Federal Agricultural Mortgage Corporation (Farmer Mac). The FCS is the largest agricultural lender in the United States. It is a nationwide network of lending institutions that are owned by their borrowers. It serves all 50 States and Puerto Rico. The FCS provides credit and other services to agricultural producers and farmer-owned cooperatives.
