Cary Medical Center is a 65-bed acute care hospital in Caribou, Maine. The hospital also has available the latest diagnostic technology including multi-slice CT Scan, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Advanced Ultra-Sound, Stereo Tactic Biopsy, and highly automated Medical Laboratory. Cary Medical Center has all private patient rooms and completed a million dollar renovation to its acute care unit in 2017. Thanks to nearly $1 million dollars raised by our generous communities, the hospital opened the Women`s Imaging Center (2014) and Jefferson Cary Cancer Center (2015) to provide comprehensive cancer care and screening options closer to home. Cary Medical Center has also developed a unique and powerful relationship with Aroostook County Veterans, the Maine VA Health System and Maine Veterans Homes. Cary was the first hospital in the nation to establish a Veterans Administration Outpatient Clinic located in a private rural hospital. Additionally, on the hospital`s campus is a 40-bed long-term care facility and a 30-bed residential care facility operated by the Maine Veterans Home.
