POSITION SUMMARY:
The Chief Marketing Officer will oversee all marketing, sales, communications, and customer service functions of the Atlanta Symphony and Atlanta Symphony Hall. In addition, the CMO is responsible for coordination of customer experience with the Woodruff Arts Center team. The CMO will report to the Executive Director, and will be charged with the following overall responsibilities:
• Managing all Atlanta Symphony (ASO) earned revenue streams
• Developing and implementing strategies for earned revenue growth across the organization
• Overseeing ASO, SH, and ASO Presents (ASOP) brand and imaging in the community and worldwide
• Ensuring maximum net profit from ASO popular, special concert, and Chastain Park and Verizon Amphitheater programming
• Coordination of ASO popular and ASOP programming
• Overseeing all customer service functions
WORK SCHEDULE:
• Monday – Friday, 9am -5pm. With some nights and weekends required as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
• Approve all ASO popular programming, including ASO Pops, and ASO non-classical special products, and maximize net revenue from ASO popular and non-subscription programming
• Lead development of ASO performances at Chastain Park Amphitheater and Verizon Amphitheater
• Partner with artistic team to develop classical programming that meets ASO`s strategic goals, delivers consistent year-on-year audience growth, and supports patron loyalty
• Develop and implement new earned revenue opportunities
• Develop and oversee the annual marketing budget and three-year growth plan, including overseeing the setting of revenue goals and expenses
• Overseeing the design and development of creative and data-driven marketing plans with the goals of increasing attendance, revenue, and preparing ticket buyers to become donors
• Oversee ASO`s sales and customer service functions, including box office, telemarketing, and ushers
• Lead a database analytics program that informs strategies to re-engage and retain audiences
• Responsible for brand stewardship and consistent visual identity
• Oversee all sales and marketing functions of ASO Media
• Support company priorities such as development, education and community programs, corporate sponsorships, and others.
• In conjunction with CFO, oversee technology strategy for the organization, including website, phone system, ticketing, Tessitura and e-commerce
• Be a public advocate for the Atlanta Symphony, and a visible front of house presence at ASO events
• Work closely with the ASO Board and Woodruff Arts Center colleagues and Boards
• Lead integration of ASO Presents and ASO efforts to ensure seamless brand messaging and maximum net revenue
• Substitute for the Executive Director at internal meetings and public functions as required

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor`s or graduate degree in arts management, marketing or related field.
• Ten or more years experience in public relations, marketing strategy, strategic planning and audience development
• Successful track record in marketing for a large performing arts, entertainment and or media organization
• Experienced in 10+ member staff leadership, management, motivation and training
• Appreciation of classical music a requirement
• Familiarity with best practices in performing arts organization revenue generation and management
Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to maintain and enhance a large multi-faceted income function
• Experienced in computerized database management
