Cambridge Mobile Telematics

Cambridge Mobile Telematics (CMT) pioneered telematics for usage-based and behavior-based programs making roads and drivers safer around the world. Founded in 2010 by two MIT professors, CMTs accomplished team of expert scientists and experienced entrepreneurs developed DriveWell, an advanced mobile-sensing and big data platform delivering an end-to-end smartphone telematics solution. DriveWell provides valuable feedback to users, helping them to improve driving performance and become more aware of unsafe behaviors. DriveWell is the first telematics platform in the industry to provide both traditional vehicle-centric, usage-based-insurance (UBI) and driver-centric, behavior-based insurance (BBI) solutions. Through the DriveWell program, CMTs partners can easily measure mileage, time of day, roadways and risky driving behaviors - giving them a complete picture of every trip and allowing them to segment high-risk vs low-risk customers easily. CMT has a proven track record of changing driver behavior: an average reduction of 35% in phone distraction, 20% in hard braking, and 20% in at-risk speeding all within 30 days of using the program. With DriveWell, users become safer drivers, resulting in fewer crashes and less-costly claims. The average user sustains a 25% reduction in phone usage even after 200 days, and some CMTs insurance partners report as much as 47% reduction in total claims costs, based on studies of more than 100,000 drivers.

Jelli

Jelli was an interactive radio broadcasting service that was launched in 2009 and ended in 2014, when it changed its business platform towards its cloud based sales products for radio stations. The company is based in San Mateo, California. Jelli was created by Michael Dougherty (formerly of Tellme Networks) and Jateen Parekh (formerly from the Amazon Kindle project).[1] Using the concept of crowdsourcing, Jelli is a modernised version of All Request radio, billed as a "multiplayer video game on a radio station". Jelli debuted on CBS Radio-owned KITS in San Francisco on June 28, 2009.[5][6] After starting out with a Sunday night Jelli show on KITS in 2009, Jelli was further expanded to a Monday through Friday night show called "Free for All" in January, 2010, hosted by DJ White Menace. Jelli shows were broadcast on KITS six nights a week. On June 29, 2014, Jelli ceased operations as a user-controlled radio platform and turned its focus to selling advertising through the services of co-owned Radiospot.[7] On June 23, 2015, Jelli announced $21 million in Series B funding from Relay Ventures, Intel Capital, First Round Capital, iHeartMedia, and Universal Music Group
