The Delaware River & Bay Authority (DRBA) was created by Compact in 1962. The DRBA, overseen by six commissioners from New Jersey and six from Delaware, is charged with providing vital transportation links between the two states as well as economic development in Delaware and the four southern counties of New Jersey. To fulfill these missions, the DRBA operates the Delaware Memorial Bridge, theCape May-Lewes Ferry, the Delaware City - Salem Ferry, the Riverfront Marketplace, the Salem County Business Center and five regional airports—New Castle, Civil Air Terminal at Dover AFB, and Delaware Airpark, all in Delaware, and Millville and Cape May, both in New Jersey.
The Lorain County Board of Commissioners appoints members to serve on many of these Boards and would like to encourage citizens to become involved in their local government by applying to serve as a member to one of many Boards that may be of interest.
