Since our beginning in 1867, Kern Medical has served as an integral part of the community. Our 222-licensed bed acute care teaching hospital and outpatient clinics offer many services unavailable to the rest of the community. These services include: - The only Level II Trauma program between Fresno and Los Angeles - Academic teaching programs that have trained many of the physicians now practicing in our community. Our physician training ranges from three to five years with residencies in internal medicine, surgery, family practice, emergency medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, and psychiatry. We offer an extensive array of services to all – regardless of their circumstances. We continue to add new medical technologies, recruit outstanding physicians in new specialties, and further expand our affiliation with UCLA. Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital is a 238-bed not-for-profit community hospital and trauma center that opened in 1975 to serve a rapidly growing community. Our vision is to create the ideal patient-centered environment to surpass expectations. In other words, to be great at what matters most to patients. We are apart of LA County`s STEMI receiving network and provide a full spectrum of heart care services from cardiac intervention in the Roberta G. Veloz Cardiac Cath Lab to cardiac rehab and quarterly community heart fairs. In recent years we also opened the Kim & Steve Ullman Neonatal Intententive Care Unit and the Akbar Hasan Infusion Center. All of these expansions are the result of generous donations from area residents and business owners, as well as Henry Mayo medical staff and employees.
