The West Virginia Health Information Network (WVHIN) offers services that enable the secure electronic exchange of patient health information, providing benefits to health care providers, health care systems and patients. In February 2010, the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources received $7.8 million in federal funds as part of the State Health Information Exchange Cooperative Agreement Program. The West Virginia Health Information Network (WVHIN) is using these funds to launch WVHIN’s statewide electronic health information exchange services.
