KCTS Television was renamed Cascade Public Media in January, 2016 to reflect the organization’s broader public media focus across television, online and mobile platforms. This followed the organization’s merger with Crosscut.com and its acquisition of What’s Good 206 on December 2, 2015. Cascade Public Media now operates KCTS 9, Crosscut.com, What’s Good 206 and the Channel 9 Corporation, a for-profit entity established to facilitate retail operations.
