Job Description:
Verland is seeking qualified applicants for a Director of Human Resources, an executive level position.
Under the direction of the Chief Operations Officer, (COO) this key position originates and implements practices and policies that emphasize empowerment and accountability, quality, attainment and high employee morale to promote a superior workforce.
The Human Resources Director will plan, direct and manage the HR Department including policy formation, recruitment and retention, benefits planning/administration, salary administration, performance evaluations, training, employee/labor relations and contract negotiations and administration. Previous expereince providing complex administrative support to the COO and Board of Directors is required. Experience transforming manual function to automation of the HR Department is helpful.
About Verland Foundation Inc: Verland is a non-profit family of person-centered, community homes and services supporting 230 individuals with intellectual disabilities;many of whom have multiple physical challenges. In the nearly 40 years since its founding, Verland has grown to be one of southwestern Pennsylvania`s largest provider of services for people with severe disabilities. Verland has 50 residential care facilities in Allegheny, Beaver, Fayette and Mercer counties.
Our mission statement involves providing state of the heart support for our individuals. That mission requires the personal commitment, dedication and continuous interventions of professional staff.
Experience and Skills
Minimum requirements include a Masters Degree in HR Management or in a closely related field, 5-7 years of progressively responsible HR leadership,expert communications and human relation skills are a must. Plus a knowledge of applicable fderal and state laws.
Salary commensurate with credentials and experience.
