Lumense, located in Atlanta`s Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC) next to the Georgia Tech campus, offers real-time, in situ, chemical and biological sensors for use in a broad range of applications, including those in the water, food and beverage, and agriculture sectors. Lumense developed SensorIT, a common, scalable sensor platform augmented with low cost optical detectors customized for specific targets, allowing customers to move from a reactive to a proactive approach to contaminant management and recipe control. The SensorIT platform has been used to continuously detect trace amounts of dozens of different substances, many of which previously could only be detected and quantified with expensive laboratory equipment after sampling. An ammonia monitor for air monitoring in poultry houses is the first product to be released under Lumense`s SensorIT technology platform. As part of the platform, customers will be able to view and manage their sensor data remotely and securely. Products under development include a sensor for detecting trace levels of impurities in gases used by the food and beverage industry, and a sensor for monitoring water quality.
