University of Cincinnati Medical Center was founded in 1821 as the teaching hospital for UC College of Medicine, the first in the United States. Washington in 1881, Tuskegee University is known not only for being among the nation`s premier historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs), but for its openness to all.
