The Agency is governed by a Board of Directors, appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Board of Supervisors. The SFMTA Board of Directors provides policy oversight for the Agency, including approval of its budget and contracts, and approval of proposed changes of fares, fees, and fines to ensure that the public interest is represented.
