The University Medical Center of El Paso (UMC) was selected as the Best Hospital in El Paso for 2015 by El Paso residents. It was also selected for having Best Clinics and Best Emerency Department. UMC is home to the only Level I Trauma Center in a 280-mile radius of El Paso. More than 85 percent of all trauma cases are sent to UMC` widely regarded as the best equipped` most advanced hospital in the region. UMC is known for being staffed with some of the most highly skilled and experienced surgeons` nurses` technicians and staff in the southwestern United States. UMC is licensed by the State of Texas and accredited by the Joint Commission. Since the early 1990s` the White House has designated UMC as the hospital where the President` Vice President and former Presidents of the United States will be treated should they require medical care while traveling in the region. Accessible` high quality care is the focus of UMC.
