Human Resource (HR) Specialists serve as a link between an organization and its employees. Human Resource Specialists perform specific tasks that relate to the recruitment, development and proficiency of the company workforce ensuring that all Federal, State and local laws are met. Responsibilities are varied, requiring a high degree of confidentiality, discretion, independent judgment and multitasking. HR Specialists typically handle administrative aspects of all human resources responsibilities which can lead to a concentration in a specific discipline of human resources or a Human Resource Generalist position.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
• Assists in hiring process by coordinating job postings, reviewing and screening resumes, performing telephone interviews, coordinating face-to-face interviews with hiring managers, completing background and reference checks, administering applicant testing, etc.
• Prepare new employee orientation packets and assist with orientations
• Complete data entry of personnel data into HRIS system
• Coordinates health, life and disability insurance enrollments and communicates with carriers and brokers concerning routine administration of programs
• Assists with policy review, updates and employee communication of policy updates
• Amend job descriptions at direction of management
• Create, maintain and audit personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements including accreditation compliance with vaccinations, annual required training and screenings, performance management, etc
• Keeps employee records up-to-date by processing employee status changes in timely fashion including all tasks assigned on the HR Admin checklists
• Assist with annual benefits open enrollment duties
• Send out notification of initial exit interview requests
• Travels to other Travis Medical branch locations as needed to perform HR functions
• Produce regular or special reports as required
• Complete HR administrative functions such as department scanning, filing, faxing, reception, data entry, etc. as needed
