Augusta, Georgia is a consolidated city-county. Located in the east-central part of Georgia, it is the principal city of the Augusta-Richmond County Metropolitan Statistical area. Petersburg is an independent city in the Commonwealth of Virginia in the United States. As of the 2020 census, the population was 33,458.
