Established in 1864, Good Shepherd Services is a non-profit residential treatment center for adolescents, ages 13 to 21, who are suffering from severe emotional and behavioral problems. Located on 70 wooded acres in Baltimore County, the Center provides therapeutic services and an MSDE-approved non-sectarian education in a residential and day school setting for students from throughout Maryland. Good Shepherd Services (also known as the House of the Good Shepherd of the City of Baltimore) is dedicated to the belief that no matter how severe the symptoms, all children can be reached and succeed in having productive lives. Consistent with our heritage of the Sisters of the Good Shepherd, the mission is “Love in Action” and the belief that “One person is more precious than a world.” The Sisters of the Good Shepherd constantly explore innovative ways to build a stronger network of Good Shepherd programs across North America with the ultimate goal of ensuring that the special commitment and values behind the Good Shepherd mission endures as a lasting legacy. The Center for Disability Services offers hope, innovation and achievement to the people we support. For 75 years, we have been one of upstate New York`s largest providers of programs and services for individuals who have disabilities. Many of the innovative programs and vital services that we offer are not available elsewhere. The Center for Disability Services provides comprehensive Health Care, residential services, education, adult programming, service coordination and skilled nursing care to individuals with disabilities. In addition, we have a commercial printing, inserting, and mailing operation that is supported by a workforce of over 200 individuals with disabilities. Our annual budget is approximately $129 million dollars and we employ over 2,700 workers in over 80 locations. The Center also has a Foundation that supports many of the necessary services that are not funded by other sources.
