YWCA of Nashville and Middle Tennessee is on a mission. We help families leave abusive households and start new lives. We provide free adult education to women and men and mentor elementary and middle school girls in several Metro Nashville Public Schools. YWCA exists to educate, encourage and break down barriers that perpetuate racism, violence and hopelessness.
The Unity movement was founded by Charles and Myrtle Fillmore in 1889 as a healing ministry based on the power of prayer and thoughts to create our own reality. The world headquarters at Unity Village, Missouri, provides people around the world with positive, spiritual messages of hope, healing, prosperity and peace. Core areas include: Prayer— Silent Unity®, the prayer ministry of Unity, responds to nearly 2 million requests per year from people who write, call or email for prayer support. Publishing— Unity offers hundreds of books, pamphlets and CDs on a variety of spiritual subjects. Unity also publishes two magazines to inspire and advance personal growth: Daily Word® and Unity Magazine®. Education— Unity Institute® and Seminary (UI) offers a resident study program for adults. Classes in the Spiritual Education and Enrichment (SEE) Program may be taken by individuals interested in informal study for personal growth or by those seeking to become licensed Unity teachers. UI also conducts a two-year resident Ministry and Religious Studies (M&RS) Program for those preparing for ministry. Retreats and Events— Workshops with top names and engaging material, retreats that offer spiritual enlightenment, and special events and conventions are all a part of that core process. Unity Online Radio— The programs on the network, unity.fm, are a powerful voice in providing the consciousness, clarity and common vision necessary to create transformation in the world today.
