The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation is a nonpartisan, private charitable foundation that advances ideas and supports institutions to promote a better world. For more than 50 years, we have supported efforts to advance education for all, preserve the environment, improve lives and livelihoods in developing countries, promote the health and economic well-being of women, support vibrant performing arts, strengthen Bay Area communities and make the philanthropy sector more effective. BRITE is a federally funded business incubator aimed at growing energy technologies and allied products such as: advanced materials, electronics, and efficiency, control systems. BRITE`s physical location opened in downtown Warren in Court House Square in January 2015 and currently has 13 physical tenants and 80 virtual companies. BRITE has recently secured funding from the Appalachian Regional Commission to develop the BRITE Energy Labs, a project that will make BRITE a regional resource lab for companies to research, test, and certify products. This lab will potentially spur job and company creation in the Warren and Mahoning Valley region.
