TechTarget is the leading place on the web as it relates to B2B technology lead generation, branding, and project identification capabilities for the past 16 years. As we continue to enhance our business and transition towards a pre and post-sales purchase intent data provider for technology vendors we are looking for a Chief Marketing Officer to have the following responsibilities:
• Provide effective positioning and messaging in order to help our clients become better data-driven marketers through our first-party purchase intent capabilities;
• Enhance our already industry-leading brand recognition & positioning from a Demand Generation and Branding provider to the leader in pre and post-sales purchase intent data provider;
• Elevate and clearly articulate the benefits of our IT Deal Alert suite of products and strategically position Deal Data™ as the catalyst throughout all of our data and media products;
• Elaborate and differentiate the value of first-party data being generated through our first-owned content and audience capabilities from competitors who are focused on a predictive, list, or 3rd party data model;
• Work closely across our business units (Media Groups) that are tightly aligned with the individual technology markets to ensure our corporate messaging aligns and supports the individual business units Go-to-Market strategies;
• Manage and continue to enhance the marketing operations infrastructure including the marketing database and marketing technology ecosystem;
• Manage and help guide our global efforts as it comes to our own internal content, lead generation, and messaging strategy at the corporate level;
• Manage all corporate communications, social, public relations, ROI Summits (client summits) globally;
• Team closely with other key global marketing functions including marketing operations, product and field marketing, industry strategy and insight, eliminate silos and increase effectiveness in support of regional marketing initiatives in NA, EMEA and APJ; and,
• Ensure that our field and product marketing efforts and processes are systematically aligned across the different areas within the organization.
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of managing marketing departments, leading and collaborating across other departments not directly reporting into you, and an overall proven track record of progressive marketing management/ results.
• BA/BS of Marketing;
• At least 4 years in a Sr. Director/VP of Marketing experience in the media, data, or software industry;
• Strong communication and business plan organization skills;
• Demonstrates a proven track record of using content marketing to drive sales opportunities;
• Strong understanding of a company`s P&L and other financial statements;
• Revenue focused and revenue driven mindset (TechTarget is a sales driven organization);
• Ability to manage, prioritize and execute short and long term marketing projects;
• Customer-centric and customer-facing experience; and,
• Understanding of CRM (Salesforce.com a must) and sales and marketing automation applications (Eloqua, Marketo, Silverpop, ParDot/SFDC, etc)
