Lion Biotechnologies (LBIO) is focused on the development and commercialization of novel cancer immunotherapies based on tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL). Under a collaborative research and development agreement with Dr. Steven A. Rosenberg at the National Cancer Institute, we are investigating our our lead product candidate, LN-144, in the treatment of stage 4 metastatic melanoma. In clinical trials, LN-144 has demonstrated curative potential in patients with metastatic melanoma, and it may also be applicable to a wide range of other solid tumors. Calithera Biosciences is a clinical-stage pharmaceutical company focused on discovering and developing novel small molecule drugs directed against tumor metabolism and tumor immunology targets for the treatment of cancer. Tumor metabolism and tumor immunology have emerged as promising new fields for cancer drug discovery, and recent clinical successes with therapeutic agents in each field have demonstrated the potential to create fundamentally new therapies for cancer patients. Our lead product candidate in tumor metabolism, CB-839, is an internally discovered, first-in-class inhibitor of glutaminase, a critical enzyme in tumor metabolism.
