The high quality drinking water the Service Authority provides is drawn from three primary sources: the Occoquan Reservoir, the Potomac River and Lake Manassas. Water from the Occoquan Reservoir and Potomac River is treated at Fairfax Water`s Frederick P. Griffith, Jr. and James J. Corbalis, Jr. Water Treatment Plants, respectively. Water from Lake Manassas is treated by the City of Manassas. Wastewater collected by the Service Authority is treated at two different facilities in Northern Virginia. The H.L. Mooney Advanced Water Reclamation Facility in Woodbridge treats wastewater from the eastern portion of Prince William County. The Upper Occoquan Service Authority in Fairfax County treats wastewater from western Prince William County.
