Nipomo FFA was founded in August of 2002 upon the opening of Nipomo High School. During the first few years, the agriculture department was located on the main high school campus, and had only one agriculture teacher. The program eventually expanded to two teachers before outgrowing its facilities. In 2007, the agriculture department moved onto "Ag Island" where it is located today.
