In 1986, an electrical engineer (founder and CEO) ventured into a new field, one where technology had not yet made its mark. Invited by family members to join their small shop in southwest Missouri, they focused on screen-printing and a then new process of “cut vinyl”. The sign industry was just beginning to use computers and apply these vinyl films on windows, vehicles and many other substrates. When changing customer requests coincided with the retirement of family members new opportunities were created. From this combination of circumstances, Springfield Sign and Neon was born.
