Position Overview
The sr director, field human resources (“HR”), serves as a general practitioner for assigned regions and will provide expert advice and strategic HR consulting to the organization. This role will drive the design, communication, implementation and measurement of short and long-term HR strategies, initiatives and programs that align with business objectives and overall company strategy. This leader embodies and advocates the attraction of diverse talent to create an inclusive culture that builds trust and loyalty across levels while ensuring compliance to HR policies and applicable laws and regulations to mitigate risk to the brand.
Primary Responsibilities & Accountabilities
• Partner with cross-functional leaders to develop, communicate and implement key culture-building initiatives, associate engagement practices and talent-building process that best support business objectives; champion positive associate relations throughout the organization.
• Act as a change leader within the organization and coach others in change management.
• Drive organization effectiveness efforts using HR resources to develop and implement strategies to improve business effectiveness.
• Leads, develops, and mentors a team HR business partners throughout the field to engage the business and provide success for HR projects and functions.
• Provide HR expertise in the resolution of associate issues; guide and support management in counseling and terminations for assigned regions; work closely with legal to conduct, document and resolve workplace investigations.
• Oversee the development, implementation, interpretation and administration of HR related policies and procedures; work with legal to ensure HR related practices and policies comply with federal and state regulations.
• Oversee HR administrative activities such as personnel records, including job posting, job request system documentation, job performance records, new hire paperwork, LOA management, employment status changes and employment terminations are maintained in accordance with document retention policy.
• Define the process to attract and retain the right talent at the right time including the appropriate labor markets and systems for identifying, assessing and matching the competencies required for successful performance.
• Drive diversity initiatives and programs designed to attract, retain and promote a diverse workforce for the company; support company diversity initiatives.
• Identify organizational development opportunities; work with leadership to develop and implement unified and targeted solutions.
• Provide guidance to business units on basic benefit-related questions and issues; partner with total rewards to educate business on related policies and practices.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum
• Bachelor`s degree in human resources management, business administration or related field and ten (10) years progressively responsible HR experience including five (5) years management/supervisory role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous employee relations, succession planning and performance management experience working with various levels of employees.
• Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently.
• Ability to understand and follow English instructions.
• Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check.
Preferred Qualifications
• Master`s degree in human resources or related field; or equivalent experience.
• Experience working in an HR retail environment.
• Professional in human resources certification (PHR or SPHR).
