North Valley Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital located in beautiful Whitefish, Montana. The hospital opened its current facility in 2007 on a 45 acre campus and serves a population of 30,000 people in the Flathead Valley area. North Valley Hospital employs 450 people in the area and has approximately 160 active, courtesy, and consulting physicians on staff in addition to a community trauma center and 24/7 emergency, lab, and imaging departments. The hospital was the first in the area to acquire a DaVinci Robot for surgery. Also, in 2015, our spa-like birth center welcomed 541 newborns. North Valley Hospital is a Planetree certified facility, and the hospital and all outreach clinics practice the Planetree healthcare philosophy of patient centered care in a healing environment. Our origins can be traced to the Fall of 1916 when a group of community leaders set aside 300 dollars, and donated lumber from the dismantled Court House, to build the first hospital in Fort Myers. That first hospital, Lee County Hospital, a two story, four room, 10 bed, wooden building was the beginning of community health care in our area. Today, Lee Memorial Health System consists of four acute care hospitals: Lee Memorial Hospital, HealthPark Medical Center, Gulf Coast Medical Center and Cape Coral Hospital, and two speciality hospitals: Golisano Children`s Hospital of Southwest Florida and The Rehabilitation Hospital.
