Clover Park Technical College is a vital member of Washington State`s higher education system, offering highly relevant and award-winning professional and technical education in the South Puget Sound region. Clover Park Technical College got its start in 1941, as a program called War Production Training at Clover Park High School. Since then, CPTC has grown to include forty-three programs in aerospace, advanced manufacturing, health sciences, human services, business, hospitality, science, technology, engineering, transportation and trades. The university can trace its beginning to 1891 when members of the Church of the Brethren, moving west to California, founded Lordsburg College. When the surrounding agricultural community of Lordsburg was renamed to La Verne in 1917, the institution followed suit and La Verne College was established.
