BASIS was founded on the belief that every child deserves an opportunity to excel academically, and that every child can. The overwhelming success and recognition of the first two BASIS Schools in Tucson and Scottsdale demonstrates that these principles, combined with hard work and persistence, could help revolutionize American education. BASIS students are not selected in a demanding admissions process, unlike elite public magnet, fine independent and top-performing international schools to which we are compared. They become BASIS students in the classrooms, inspired by great teachers and greater expectations for what they can achieve. BASIS.ed now manages 12 BASIS Charter schools, expanding from Arizona to Texas and the District of Columbia.
