The Horseracing Integrity and Safety Act of 2020 established the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority (HISA), for the purpose of developing and implementing an Anti-Doping and Medication Control (ADMC) Program and a Racetrack Safety Program comprised of national, uniform rules and regulations to make racing safer for both human and equine athletes and strengthen the integrity of the sport. HISA will begin implementation and enforcement of the Racetrack Safety Program on July 1, 2022. The rules and national accreditation standards were drafted by a committee of independent and industry experts and have been through a multistage consultation, stakeholder engagement and public comment process culminating in its approval by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). HISA continues to make significant progress in bringing together industry stakeholders and independent members in various fields to usher in a new and safer era for thoroughbred racing and its athletes.
The Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) currently manages the delivery of IT infrastructure services to 89 Executive Branch agencies and managed network services to more than 1,200 state and local government entities. IT infrastructure services encompass mainframes, servers, service desk, end user computing, disaster recovery, and security. Managed network services include the states wide and local area networks, voice, cable and wiring, and conferencing services. Both categories of services are provided as shared services through a public-private partnership called the Georgia Enterprise Technology Services (GETS) program. A Multisourcing Service Integrator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the delivery of services by multiple providers. GTA is responsible for service provider oversight and management as well as governance.

The people of Abilene are dedicated to the principle of local self-government, under law, as interpreted by the light of reason, and have established a municipal government capable of efficiently translating the wishes of the voters into effective administration as promptly and economically as possible. The first Abilene Charter went into effect in 1911. Abilene is a home rule city. It has all powers granted to home rule cities by the constitution and laws of Texas. The municipal government provided by the City Charter is known as Council-Manager Government. All powers of the City are vested in an elected City Council, which enacts legislation, adopts budgets, and determines policies. The City Council consists of six Council members and a Mayor, all of whom are elected at large. Each Council member serves for a term of three years. Terms for the City Council are on a three year staggered basis such that two Council members are elected each year. The Mayor and each Council member receive a salary of one dollar per year for each year he or she serves as Mayor or Council member. The Mayor appoints the City Manager, the City Secretary, the City Attorney, and the Judge of Municipal Court with the approval of the Council. The City Manager is the chief administrative officer of the City who executes the laws and administers the government of the City.
