Canadian Blood Services was founded in 1998, based on recommendations from the Krever Report on the tainted blood scandal. We are regulated as a biologics manufacturer by Health Canada and primarily funded by the provincial and territorial ministries of health. Canadian Blood Services is a not-for-profit charitable organization whose mission is to operate Canada’s blood supply in a manner that gains the trust, commitment and confidence of all Canadians by providing a safe, secure, cost-effective, affordable and accessible supply of quality blood, blood products and their alternatives. Serving over 7,200 kids at 19 Clubs in Knox, Blount, Loudon and North Anderson Counties. Our Mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. We offer quality programming after school and during the summer to help kids achieve great futures. Our goal is to give Club members the tools they need to achieve academic success, build a healthy lifestyle, and develop strong character and citizenship skills.
