At SXSWedu 2015, we debuted “The Pride and Promise of Austin,” a film made up of short documentaries created by our students to show a day in their lives. Throughout many of the shorts, students highlighted how their school offered them a home and a sense of place.
SouthLake Christian Academy, located at Lake Norman in Huntersville, NC, was founded in 1994 by SouthLake Presbyterian Church. The school began as a mission of the Church and opened its doors the first year to 23 students. Today, approximately 800 students are enrolled at SouthLake Christian Academy in Junior-Kindergarten through twelfth grades. In these 20 years SouthLake has grown and stayed true to our mission - to assist the Christian family by providing an education marked by a biblical worldview, academic excellence and affordability so that students are equipped to be salt and light for God`s glory and to present God`s Word and biblical worldview daily to non-believers with the promise of God`s redemptive plan, to be a force and voice for Jesus Christ that will resonate throughout non-believing families.
