POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the CEO of SAE International, the Chief Marketing Officer [CMO] will be a key member of the executive leadership team, working across the organization to create and develop new and innovative marketing/branding/sales strategies to greatly enhance and build on the organization`s global profile as the unparalleled resource in the mobility space. This transformational marketing executive will define a completely new and modern strategy to better align SAE products and services with its customers` needs. The CMO will define and implement the organizational structures, processes and platforms needed to develop, manage and measure the customer experience, define and manage the SAE brand, and maximize SAE market penetration.
As an agent of change, the CMO will be motivated by the challenges of transforming traditional marketing methods to customer- or market-centric solutions. In addition, he/she will have experience creating cross-departmental processes to embed Voice of Customer [VoC] strategy throughout all functional areas. The CMO will work closely with the Chief Product Officer, Chief Society & Industry Programs Officer and other executives to change the way the SAE portfolio is created and delivered to ensure that the current and next generation of engineers` and industries` needs are met and surpassed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Create marketing operations strategy that holistically binds historically separate teams in promotion, product and sales.
•Develop and lead a cross-business market research capability that captures VoC and supports new product creation based on customer demands and needs, driving usage of products/programs/services.
•Optimize the power and reach of company brand and product/program/service portfolio across multiple audiences and key stakeholders in global marketplace.
•Develop and lead corporate branding for online and offline products/services, working with CPO and customer care professionals to ensure positive end-user experiences.
•Direct the development of a centralized CRM strategy that works within and across each business segment to create new selling opportunities and improved customer relations.
•In partnership with other members of the executive team, help create an integrated sales strategy to optimize customer lead generation, acquisition and retention, and increase overall revenues.
•Manage a team of professionals dedicated to brand management, product marketing, marketing operations, audience management and market segmentation, channel marketing, social media/digital strategy, market research and competitive analysis, and communications.
•Define and implement web analytics capabilities to leverage social media and external data; conversely, develop internal metrics to better leverage core business intelligence data.
QUALIFICATIONS
•10+ years leading top-down marketing/sales strategies that have dramatically changed how company is perceived both internally and externally.
•Experience in transforming traditional marketing team behaviors and thinking to develop a modern marketing organization able to adapt to the pace of the global marketplace.
•Thorough knowledge of current marketing best practices, channel marketing, marketing automation and digital campaigns.
•High-level B2B marketing experience with professional services and/or information companies.
•Track record of recruiting and retaining top marketing talent.
•Strategic leader able to work with colleagues and business stakeholders to identify new products, marketing, directions, and innovative opportunities for growth.
•Proven track record of success & growth in international markets.
•Demonstrable experience and success in using data to drive marketing decisions and tactics.
•MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred.
