During these difficult economic times, the level of need in our community continues to rise, yet at Goodwill the spirit of success triumphs. We deeply appreciate those who provide support. The company started in 1965 with eight employees and a $60,000 budget in a time when there were few community organizations helping people with disabilities. Today, we have more than 850 employees and a budget of $27+ million. We expanded our services in recent years with the opening of nine Job Connection Centers. These centers connect businesses and job seekers in local community, as well as the surrounding counties. The centers offers a wide array of services and classes.
Heartspring is a worldwide center for children with special needs. Our mission, in partnership with parents, professionals and the community, is to help children with special needs grow and learn on a path to a more independent life. The goal for all Heartspring School students is to transition them to a less restrictive setting whether that be home, a group setting or the public school setting. Heartspring teaches the life skills that children need to become active members of society. Heartspring Pediatric Services strives to positively impact the lives of children with special needs through outpatient therapies that include occupational, physical and speech therapies and psychology services. Together with the child, parents and therapists, individual programs are implemented to help children attain their potential.
