Summary:
Responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of Kindred`s organizational growth. The CTO provides the CIO with technical vision and works with Executive Management to grow the company through the use of technological resources. Collaborates across the enterprise to cultivate new ideas and facilitate IT development of innovation programs and initiatives. Using an active and practical approach, the CTO will ensure the IT department is aligned with the company`s strategic goals.
Essential Functions:
• Establish the company`s technical vision and leads all aspects of the company`s technological development.
• Directs the company`s strategic focus, development and future growth.
• Works in a consultative fashion with other IT department heads and key stakeholders in all Kindred divisions as an advisor of technologies that may improve their efficiency and effectiveness.
• Provides leadership to department heads in a fashion that supports the company`s culture, mission and values.
• Oversees innovation strategy and implementation through the innovation life cycle including identification, evaluation, development, and piloting of internally- and externally-sourced opportunities.
• Cultivates best practices by scouting and standardizing market research methods for novel ideas and insights; strategic innovation and introducing group tools and processes that encourage out-of-the box thinking.
• Collaborates across the enterprise to cultivate new ideas and facilitate development of innovation programs and initiatives.
• Conducts research and case studies on leading edge technologies and makes determinations on the probability of implementation.
• Acts as a good steward of Kindred`s resources and ensures effective control of IT departmental budgets.
• Monitors healthcare IT industry trends and identifies emerging technologies and best practices.
• Develops, coaches, and motivates direct reports to lead by example, enabling effective performance, career growth and retention.

• Exercises the highest degree of critical thinking skills.
• Proven business knowledge and success in managing highly complex systems while applying industry best practices.

Education:
• Bachelor`s and/or Graduate Degree in Information Systems, Business or related field
Licenses/Certification:
• Professional certifications related to Essential Functions preferred
Experience:
• 15 years departmental management experience required. 10 – 15 years technology and innovation experience with proven strategic results.
